There’s a ton of information in the Status Bar at the bottom of your Word document, but I’m not sure you know that you can change and customize what information shows up down there. Here’s how you do that…
If you right-click in the Status Bar at the bottom of the screen, you’ll get the Customize Status Bar pane:
As you can see, there are a number of options for what will show up in the Status Bar, and you can turn them on and off based on your work style. For instance, you may not be interested in Character Count, so you’d simply deselect that option and it would disappear from the Status Bar. On the other hand, knowing the Vertical Page Position might be important to you if you’re trying for some type of exact layout. In that case, select that option so that you can see the measurement at all times
