There’s probably been more than one occasion when you’ve wanted to start a group chat with a number of people, and all those people happen to belong to a certain distribution list. Instead of typing in each name individually to start the group chat, wouldn’t it be nice to just use the distribution list to populate the names? Well, now you can! Here’s how that works…
Here I’m starting a group chat in Teams, and I want to get all the names from a distribution list that starts with IT Share. Teams finds the matching distribution list for that string, and I click on the name:
Once I click on the name, the To field in the chat resolves to each individual who is part of that distribution list. I didn’t have to type in each name individually!
