Earlier this week, I was getting bounced mail to a person who I knew was still with the company, and it was part of a Reply To email. I couldn’t figure out why, until our mail administrator asked me to update my cached Outlook address book from the Global Address Book in Exchange. Here’s how that works…
In Outlook, go to the Send / Receive tab in the Ribbon Bar, and click on Send/Receive Groups > Download Address Book:
This dialog box gives you the option to download everything or just changes since the last download:
This will show you the progress of what’s going on. Once it disappears, your local Outlook address book will be synchronized with the Global Address Book in Exchange. Any bounced addresses will likely be resolved now.
