Using Reply All to Get Off an Email Thread… Just Say No

This is less of a tip and more of a public service announcement/reminder…

If you’re mistakenly included on an email chain (such as someone using an incorrect—and large—email distribution group, do not use Reply All to ask to be taken off of it. That will just start a Reply All email storm that will quickly escalate… and could, if large enough, take down your email system. Instead, either reply directly to the initiator, or better yet, just ignore it.

In fact, Outlook has an Ignore feature that allows you to send all current and future emails in a particular thread directly to your Delete folder:
