Outlook: Copilot Prioritize feature will be retired

One of the Outlook features that I used to like was the ability to have Copilot automatically prioritize my inbox. It would learn as it went along, and you’d find new emails getting up or down arrows as it attempted to help manage new emails. Unfortunately, Microsoft has decided to retire that feature, so you won’t be seeing it any longer. Here’s the Microsoft messaging on the retirement…

What and Why:

We’re retiring the Copilot Prioritize feature in Outlook. Starting October 26, 2026, we’ll roll back the feature and remove the corresponding user experience from all Outlook clients as part of the cleanup effort. This change allows us to simplify the Outlook Copilot experience and focus our ongoing investments.

Rollout Schedule:

We will begin this change on October 26, 2026, and expect to complete by mid-November 2026.

Impact on Your Organization:

Who is affected:

  • Users who currently have access to Copilot Prioritize in Outlook.

Platforms/Services:

  • All Outlook clients
  • Microsoft 365 Copilot

What will happen:

  • Copilot Prioritize will be retired, with the rollback beginning October 26, 2026, and expected to be completed by mid-November 2026.
  • The Prioritize user experience will be removed from all Outlook clients as part of the retirement and cleanup effort.
  • Users will no longer be able to use the feature after retirement.
  • No opt-in is required because this change removes an existing feature.
