Using the Ranking question type in Microsoft Forms

When you’re creating a Microsoft Forms questionnaire, you might want to give people a list of options and provide the opportunity to move them around into a preferred order. You can do that with the Ranking question type. Here’s how that works…

In this questionnaire, I want people to be able to rank their preferences in pizza toppings. I’ll start by selecting the Ranking question type:

I then fill in all the options I want to have them rank:

When I preview the Form, I have the option to either click on the option and drag/drop the option up and down, or I can use the arrows for the option to move things into the desired order:

Once the Form is submitted, I can check out the Responses tab to see how the overall ranking came out:

And if I export the results to Excel, you can see how the options are stored:
