User-friendly links in Outlook on the Web

This is a rather cool way to get user-friendly link from SharePoint Online or OneDrive in an email without a lot of work… just copy the link into an email created in Outlook on the Web, and Outlook will do all the hard work for you! Here’s how it works and looks…

First, I’ll start off by getting a link from a document library in SharePoint Online:

People with existing access can use the

In a new email in Outlook on the Web, paste the link into the body of the email. It starts off as the full HTTPS link for a few seconds:

I’d love to see this eventually make it to the Outlook client, but for right now it’s yet another reason to consider using Outlook on the Web on a more regular basis.
