Getting rid of the Paste Options button in Excel

Generally speaking, when I paste something in Excel, I have a pretty good idea of how I want it to look. The last thing I want is a Paste Options button showing up (and usually blocking content) on my page. Here’s an easy way to remove it temporarily and permanently.

Here’s an example of what the button looks like after you paste something:

Now… if you want to get rid of it, just hit the ESC key, and it will disappear!

However, if you really don’t want to see it ever again…

Select File > Options, and go to the Advanced section:

Scroll down to the Cut, copy, and paste section and deselect the Show Paste Options button when content is pasted option.

Voilà! No more Paste Option button!
