Stepping up your Outlook search with Advanced Find

In many cases, a simple search for a word or a name in Outlook will turn up whatever email you’re after. But what if you have thousands of emails and you’re getting too many search results? You might want to try Advanced Find.

To get to the Advanced Find dialog box, place your cursor in the Search Current Mailbox field. Click the Search Tools > Search tab in the Ribbon Bar, then click Search Tools > Advanced Find:

In the Advanced Find dialog box, you have a ton of choices on how to narrow down your search criteria. The Messages tab can restrict your keyword search to specific fields:

More Choices allows you to do searches on email conditions:

And Advanced lets you look at just about any field in your mail file to do searches:

With all these options, you should be able to narrow down your search results with ease.
