PowerPoint: Deprecation of Reuse Slides button in ribbon

If you’re used to using the Reuse Slides button in PowerPoint to find slide content that you can reuse in your current slide deck, I have bad news. That button will be removed from PowerPoint by July 31st, 2025. Here’s the Microsoft announcement…

We’re retiring the Reuse Slide feature from the PowerPoint Ribbon to streamline the user experience and reduce redundancy. Users can continue to reuse content by copying and pasting slides between presentations or duplicating existing presentations.

When this will happen:

This change will roll out by July 31, 2025

How this affects your organization:

• Users will no longer see or be able to use the Reuse Slide feature in the PowerPoint Ribbon after the rollout is complete.
• There is no admin action required.
• Users can continue to reuse content by:
  • Copying and pasting slides between presentations.
  • Creating a copy of an existing presentation to build from.

While you still have the ability to copy and paste, it’ll just make it harder to try and find the content you want to reuse in the first place…
