Past calendar event color changes for Outlook on the web

So… this isn’t an earth-shattering change, but It’s sort of interesting. Sandra noticed yesterday that when viewing the Outlook calendar on Outlook on the web, meetings that were before the current date and time now appear in a lighter color gradient than current/future meetings. Here’s what that looks like…

I took this screen print of my Outlook calendar early Thursday morning. My meetings for the day (and all future days) have the normal color categorization I assigned to them. But any past meetings from that point in time show a lighter version of the category color. For instance, my SharePoint Daily Huddle meeting for 5/22 is darker (future) than the same meeting on 5/20 (past):

Does this change the way you process items on your calendar? Probably not. However, if you have a busy calendar it might be easier to see where you’re at without searching for the indicator for the current time on your calendar. In any case, you don’t have to panic about your color categorizations not working for past events. 🙂
